House conversion, Hampstead
This is the complete conversion of a fairly standard Edwardian terrace house into a five bedroom family house. A glazed addition was inserted beside the existing rear extension to make a large kitchen dining room with sliding folding doors onto the garden which, like the kitchen, is paved in limestone. The two ground floor reception rooms have been opened up but can be closed off again with sliding doors concealed between purpose-built cupboards. The top bedroom has been opened to the roof void and has a mezzanine accessed by a new stair. The two bathrooms are mainly clad in glass. Heating is by means of gas-fired hot water radiators with under floor heating in the kitchen and new fireplaces have been designed for the reception rooms.
