Loft Apartment Fit-out, Clerkenwell
This project involved the complete fit-out of a top-floor double height space in a 1930's factory building which had been converted to loft shell spaces. A new mezzanine floor and curved steel and glass stair was inserted. The forms in the design were generated by the outer existing curved glazed wall of this corner flat. The lower level incorporates living and working space and an internal library with a translucent wall; entry, kitchen and dining spaces and a spare bedroom and shower are on the mezzanine. The space is highly serviced with underfloor heating, a cool wine room, and a music centre with speakers recessed into the ceiling.
